Jewelry designs that wrap or swirl around a wrist or finger are very much in the fashion spotlight this season. Their inherent sensuousness gives them, and the wearer, an intriguing allure. Much of their visibility as a style option is due to designer ads placed in fashion and luxury-focused magazines.

An ad from Bloomingdale’s that appears in the December 2011/January 2012 issue of Harper’s Bazaar features Roberto Coin’s “‘Martellato” diamond snake ring.

An ad for Staurino Fratelli from the December 2011 issue of Town & Country highlights the “Magic Snake” ring that wraps multiple times around a finger.

An ad for Mattia Cielo that appears in the December 2011 issue of Town & Country features a coiled bracelet of 18kt gold studded with diamonds from the “Rugiada” ["Dew"] collection, which was also featured in the November 2011 issue of JCK Magazine.

January Guest Blogger: Sari Tuschman, Editor-in-Chief, Los Angeles Confidential
Our Charm & Chain guest blogger this month is Sari Tuschman, Editor-in-Chief of Los Angeles Confidential and jewelry connoisseur extraordinaire. Sari not only has an unparalleled eye for good jewelry (her taste level rivals her icon Rachel Zoe when it comes to accessories) but like many of us, she also sees a deeper sentimental meaning in the act of wearing, buying and giving jewelry. Sari recently shared with me her special perception of what jewelry means in context of a story about her family history.
