If his name does not ring a bell, his face might. In the last five years, Jared Leto has gone from “that one guy in ‘Requiem for a Dream’” to an artist with enough tags to put any triple-threat to shame: singer, songwriter, actor, director (under the pseudonym Bartholomew Cubbins), editor, sketch artist, photographer. He is also known to dance, swear and flip interviews so he is the one asking questions. Here is a photo of Jared onstage from a recent concert.

Self-proclaimed vegan and forever twenty-something, Jared and bandmates, brother Shannon Leto and Tomo Milicevic, have been touring almost non-stop to promote their latest album “This Is War” since it was released two years ago. Of the band’s third studio album, Entertainment Weekly said, “On the unabashedly epic This Is War, Leto doesn’t just shoot for the moon, he practically colonizes it.” Billboard.com had nothing but love as well, saying, “When 30 Seconds to Mars frontman Leto wants to go epic, he doesn’t go halfway.”

Their international family of supporters (affectionately named The Echelon) agrees. Recently, brothers and sisters around the world voted the band to victory for two 2011 Kerrang Awards including “Best International Band.” Of the triumph, Jared said, “THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE TWO KERRANG AWARDS!! [It’s] because of this wonderful family that we won. We accept them, with love, on your behalf.”

Here is a candid photo of Jared from earlier this year.
